Equipment Amnesty

Published: Friday, 15th September 2017

Along with Scottish Borders Health and Social Care Partnership we are holding an amnesty to encourage people to return any unused community equipment so that it can be recycled.

We are asking residents to search their homes for any pieces of equipment supplied by NHS Borders or Scottish Borders Council which are no longer required.

This may include:

  • walking aids and frames
  • bathing aids
  • hoists
  • bath lifts
  • adapted chairs
  • height adjustable seating systems
  • shower stools
  • commodes
  • bed rails
  • wheelchairs

Once returned, equipment will be assessed by our team and wherever possible recycled so that they can be reissued.
